Its model is the harmonious and homogeneous behaviour of a flock of birds when in flight, during which changes of direction and corrections are carried out in a flash, apparently "by themselves". In the process the flock, with all its individual birds, remains a unit and flies on purposefully. This is the point at which we go a considerabe step further: Collective intelligence, that is the networking of intelligence, makes a team mentality possible which, even in the face of critical problems and challenges, makes unerring leadership and problem solving possible.
The essential elements of the Vogelschwarm Prinzip® - in the sense of collective intelligence - are the existence of a "lead bird" - the management - and four "flanking birds" - strategically important employees of the company who feel appreciated not only in their own capacities but also as a part of the "flock".
The "flight" direction and "flight" formation regarding the objectives of the company, which have already been defined by the corporate management, is communicated to the flock - the remaining employees of the company - by these five individuals who also act as role models with regard to behaviour, communication and clarity.
The resulting slipstream, which spreads like a wave throughout the entire organisation and affects and carries every single employee with it, creates a sense of identification and inspiration.
